4 day long (22-25 January) 18th Founding Anniversary of Daffodil International University ended at Swadhinota Milonayoton of permanent campus of the university today (January 25) with colorful events. Mr. Md. Arfan Ali, President & Managing Director of Bank Asia Ltd. talks on ‘Entrepreneurial Role of an Executive’.

After the successful completion of Industry Academia Lecture Series with the aim to inform and motivate the educated youths of the struggle and challenges faced on route to success by the well known Executives of the country, Daffodil International University has taken initiative to introduce Academic Lecture Series on Entrepreneurial Role of an Executive. Mr. Md. Arfan Ali, President & Managing Director of Bank Asia Ltd. delivered his 1st valuable lecture on “Entrepreneurial Role of an Executive” in the series today on August 6, 2019 at 71 Milonayoton of the university. Career Development Center (CDC), DIU organized the Lecture series.

While addressing as the special guest Professor Abdul Mannan said that people of Bangladesh had freed the country to fulfill a dream. to make the country as hunger free and poor free. The total dream is not fulfill still now. But education, health and many other sectors have already achieved the top rank. Now this time, the young generation has lot of responsibilities to make the country developed and happy. 
UGC chairman also said that young people are the rudder of a nation. If rudder mistake the way, boat never can reach to the goal. So, you have to be responsible to perform your duty accurately. 
Professor Abdul Mannan urged the students to become an entrepreneur for keeping sustainability in economic sector. Entrepreneurs can manage lot of employment. In the meantime he praise to Daffodil for its’ entrepreneurial activities.

Dr. Md. Sabur Khan said in his welcome speech that every man has an unique identity. Finger print of each people in the world is different. So, you all are unique. You have to prove your uniqueness in career life also. You should choose your career in the basis of global job market.

Dr. Md. Sabur Khan encourage the new graduates to be an entrepreneur and remind that lots of workshop, training, seminar, lecture on entrepreneurship you had attended in the university life. That lesson would be helpful for you to be a successful entrepreneur.

Dr. Pornchai Mongkhonvanit said, Daffodil International University has successfully prepared you to be here today. And it’s you who will direct the nation, rule the job market and also create job placement for many others by being entrepreneurs.
He said, when I look at you, I see engineers engineering dreams for the humanity to build sustainable tools which will lead smoothly to the next generation. All the 
innovative research centers, clubs, institutes founded at your university have made you competent to take the challenges of this highly competitive world. When I look at you, I see IT specialists, corporate leaders, pharmacists, journalists, various professionals and teachers – all future leaders leading their countrymen to serve the whole world. The five faculties with twenty three promising departments prove my vision.

He also said, this ceremony will mark the end of an arduous journey and the beginning of a new one. Various statistics suggest the alarming rate of the unemployed graduates in your country and around the world. That means the more you are educated, the higher is the chance for you of remaining unemployed. So, to confront this challenging situation, your main weapon must be knowledge, sharpness in technological innovation, self-motivation and a smart work plan. You can relish as you are privileged with numerous blessings from your university. You are really blessed to be here in this visionary university where you get quality education, state of the art classroom facilities, spot recruitment, different workshops, trainings and exchange programs. 
Reminding their responsibility towards your nation, your institutions, our planet, and the whole humanity he urged the graduates to stand by them whenever necessary, working together to achieve agenda 2030 of the United Nations

Inauguration Ceremony of 17th Founding Anniversary 2019 (Day-01)

The most awaited 17th Founding Anniversary 2019 has inaugurated by Dr. Md. Enamur Rahman, Honorable State Minister, Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief, Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh today on January 27, 2019 at the Permanent Campus of Daffodil International University.

A weeklong inter-department sports competition, math Olympiad, inter-university cultural competition, IT quiz, project showcasing and exhibition were arranged. The main event included bus rally, pitha utsab, blood donation programme, discussion panels, picnic, tree plantation, games and sports, raffle draw, and musical soiree with participation of students.
Dr Jonathan Ortmans, president of Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN), was present as the chief guest. Dr Md Sabur Khan, chairman of DIU Board of Trustees and Daffodil Family, presided over the ceremony. The programme was addressed by Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Yousuf M Islam; pro-VC Prof SM Mahbubul Haque Majumder and Treasurer Hamidul Haque Khan, among other esteemed professors of the university.
Jonathan Ortmans said, “Bangladesh is now a country where one-third of the population are in their youth. I have already known that many young people of Bangladesh are becoming successful entrepreneurs, and a huge number of them are interested in entrepreneurship. So, there is no doubt that these young people will change Bangladesh.”
Sabur Khan said in his speech that students should develop skills during their student life, and DIU is helping them through initiatives like art of living, employability 360, and one student one laptop programmes. 
“DIU students wouldn’t search jobs, rather they would create jobs,” he said.
